Antibodies for use in the study of arginine methylation. Arginine methylation is a post-translational protein modification involved in the regulation of diverse cellular processes such as transcription, RNA metabolism and DNA damage repair. Arginine methylation exists in three forms (monomethyl, asymmetric dimethyl and symmetric dimethyl), and is catalyzed by nine protein-arginine methyltransferase (PRMT) enzymes. Perturbations in methylarginine levels and methylarginine effector protein function have been linked to diverse human diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative diseases.
