Five Epigenetics Conferences to Look Out for in 2023

Epigenetics conferences provide the perfect opportunity to connect with your colleagues and learn about the newest discoveries in the field. These conferences span the globe and cover a wide variety of topics, allowing experts to come together and share their research. Below we share the conferences we are most excited for in 2023. Don’t miss our full list of conferences for 2023 here.

  1. Epigenetics, Chromatin, Development and Disease

    Keystone Symposia

    Dates: March 12 – March 15, 2023

    Location: Victoria, British Columbia

Keynote Speaker: Geeta Narlikar, Michael S. Levine

Organizers: Shelley Berger, Geneviève Almouzni, Luciano Di Croce

This Keystone meeting will be held in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It will cover a wide range of subjects connected to chromatin biology, including genome function, transgenerational memory, and disease. As a joint event, it will be combined with Keystone’s meeting focusing on 3D genomics: Chromatin Architecture in Development in Human Health.

  2. AACR Annual Meeting 2023

    American Association for Cancer Research

    Dates: April 14 – April 19, 2023

    Location: Orlando, Florida

Program Committee Chair: Robert H. Vonderheide

The AACR Annual 2023 Meeting will be one of the larger meetings of the year and will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The conference will cover topics addressing cancer research, including population science, novel therapeutic targets, and advances in early cancer detection. The aim of the conference is to bring together scientists, clinicians, patients, and others affected by cancer to discuss the most recent advances in cancer research. It is a great opportunity to learn how epigenetics is understood by health care professionals, current challenges in cancer patient treatment, and new avenues for clinical applications.

  3. Chromatin and Epigenetics

    European Molecular Biology Laboratory

    Dates: May 15 – May 18, 2023

Location: Heidelberg, Germany (virtual option available)

    Keynote Speaker: Geneviève Almouzni

Organizers: Asifa Akhtar, Yehudit Bergman, Nicola Iovino, Gary Karpen, Sarah Teichmann

This EMBL conference will focus on topics specific to epigenetics, including chromatin regulation, nucleosome function, histone modifications, and single-cell genomics. It will take place at the EMBL Heidelberg campus, in Heidelberg, Germany, and has options for in-person as well as virtual meeting registration. Experience Germany in the springtime and connect with your fellow chromatin science colleagues, all in one trip. Registration for the in-person meeting ends April 3rd, while registration for the online meeting ends on May 8th.

  4. Cancer Genetics and Epigenetics: Precision Cancer Medicine for the Evolving Cancer Genome and Epigenome

    Gordon Research Conferences

    Dates: May 21 – May 26, 2023

    Location: Lucca, Italy

Chair and Vice Chair: Ting Wang, Mathieu Lupien

GRC will be hosting a meeting on cancer genetics and epigenetics this coming May in Lucca, Italy. The application for this meeting is due April 23rd, and the meeting itself will concentrate on cutting-edge research in precision medicine and epigenetics. This will be a great opportunity to speak with a wide range of experts about the potential role of epigenetics in cancer precision therapy, as well as the challenges facing these rapidly developing technologies. Make sure to stop at the nearby Leaning Tower of Pisa after the meeting!

  5. Biological and Clinical Frontiers in Epigenetics

    EpiCypher

    Dates: November 5 – November 10, 2023

    Location: Cancun, Mexico

    Keynote Speaker: Nada Jabado

Organizers: Mark Bedford, Or Gozani, Brian Strahl

This meeting will take place on the white sandy beaches of Cancun, Mexico at the all-inclusive Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach resort. It will be run by EpiCypher’s very own founders with the aim of bringing together epigenetics experts from academia, industry, and more. The biennial EpiCypher meeting always covers a diverse range of chromatin topics as well as the latest advances in epigenomic technologies. We can’t wait to see you there.
