Description

Recombinant human HP1β (CBX1, M31, Heterochromatin protein 1 beta, accession P83916, amino acids 1-184) containing an N-terminal 6xHis tag, expressed in E. coli. HP1β is a component of constitutive (transcriptionally silent) heterochromatin, recruited through the interaction.

HP1β, Recombinant Human (1 µg) was run on a PAGE gel and stained with Coomassie blue. The migration and molecular weight of the protein standards are indicated.

Figure 2: AlphaScreen data
HP1β, Recombinant Human, His-Tagged used in nucleosome binding studies to detect interactions with specific post-translational modifications. The identities of the nucleosomes tested are as follows: rNuc unmodified (black), H3K9me3 (blue).
