Histone Modifying Enzyme Antibodies
Antibodies specific for histone modifying enzymes. The post-translational modification of histone proteins is catalyzed by proteins that reversibly deposit or remove small chemical tags on specific residues on the histone proteins. Histone modifying enzymes include (but are not limited to) histone kinases, HATs (histone acetyltransferases, HDACs (histone deacetylases), KDMs (histone lysine demethylases), KMTs (histone lysine methyltransferases), PRMTs (protein arginine methyltransferases), and ubiquitin conjugating enzymes. Given the involvement of aberrant and unregulated histone modification in diseases such as cancer, many of these enzymes are targets for therapeutic intervention and drug development.
