Recombinant GCN5 Bromodomain Description: Recombinant human GCN5 Bromodomain (KAT2A, GCN5L2, HGCN5, accession number Q92830, amino acids 721 to 837) containing an N-terminal GST tag, expressed in E. coli. GCN5 is an histone acetyltransferase that catalyzes the acetylation of multiple sites on H3 and H4. GCN5 is a component of several protein complexes involved in transcriptional activation including SAGA and ATAC. The bromodomain for GCN5 recognizes multiple sites of acetylation on all four core histones.
Recombinant GCN5 Bromodomain Formulation: Recombinant GST-tagged protein at 1 mg/ml in 20 mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0, 200 mM NaCl, 1 mM DTT, 20% glycerol.
Storage and Stability: Stable for six months at -80°C from date of receipt. For best results, aliquot and avoid multiple freeze/thaws.
Application Notes: Recombinant GCN5 Bromodomain is useful for protein binding and screening experiments examining acetylated protein substrates.
