Recombinant BRG1 / SMCA4 Bromodomain Description: Recombinant human BRG1 Bromodomain (Brahma-related gene 1, SMC4A, SMARCA4, BAF190A, BRG1, SNF2B, SNF2L4, accession number P51532 amino acids 1441 to 1580) containing an N-terminal GST tag, expressed in E. coli. BRG1 / SMCA4 is an ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling protein and a component of several protein complexes involved in transcriptional activation, including CREST and BAF. BRG1 is a component of an embryonic stem cell-specific BAF complex, and BRG1 is essential for ESC self-renewal and proliferation. Mutations in the BRG1 gene have been described in a large number of primary tumors, especially lung cancer. The bromodomain in BRG1 has been reported to bind multiple sites of histone acetylation, with particular preference for H3 acetylated at lysine 14 (H3K14Ac).
Recombinant BRG1 / SMCA4 Bromodomain Formulation: Recombinant GST-tagged protein at 1 mg/ml in 20 mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0, 200 mM NaCl, 1 mM DTT, 20% glycerol.
Storage and Stability: Stable for six months at -80°C from date of receipt. For best results, aliquot and avoid multiple freeze/thaws.
Application Notes: Recombinant BRG1 / SMCA4 Bromodomain is useful for protein binding and screening experiments examining acetylated protein substrates.
